UK promotion BOXXER officially revealed its new partnership with Sky Sports today, revealing a trio of upcoming fight cards to kick things off.
The series begins October 2nd with Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Sven Elbir in Wembley. As our own Jonathon Henschel shared earlier today, the event will also see David Avanesyan defend his European Welterweight title against Liam Taylor and cruiserweight Richard Riakporhe return to action opposite Krzysztof Twardowski.
Two weeks later on October 16th, Hughie Fury headlines a card in Newcastle against Christian Hammer. Fury is 2-0 since a 2019 loss to Alexander Povetkin, beating Pavel Sour and Mariusz Wach, while Hammer fights for the second time since getting swept by Tony Yoka.
The co-feature pits WBO middleweight champ Savannah Marshall against unbeaten Zambian Lolita Muzeya, who sits directly behind Marshall in the BoxRec rankings at 3rd. Lewis Ritson will be in action as well; as an amusing aside, the press release claims he “narrowly missed out on” becoming Josh Taylor’s mandatory challenger, which conveniently ignores the fact that Jeremias Ponce beat him pillar to post.

Finally, on December 18th, Sky Sports will carry the aforementioned Taylor’s mandatory title defense against Jack Catterall in Glasgow. The announcement did not include word on the undercard.
We’ll have more domestic details soon, but we couldn’t be more excited to give @JoshTaylorBoxer the UK broadcast presence he deserves on @SkySportsBoxing, 12/18 in Glasgow against Jack Catterall.
