Caleb Plant not concerned with cut after confrontation with Canelo Alvarez

Plant says his cut isn’t a big deal and will still handle his business against Alvarez on Nov. 6.

Immediately following his press conference that turned ugly when the two fighters got physical, Caleb Plant talks about what went down during their face off and why he’s not at all worried about the scratch he received under his eye during the melee.

On what sparked his spat with Canelo

“I don’t know. Maybe he’s used to guys that stand in front of him, scared of him, and just coming to pick up a check and lose, but I let him know I’m coming November 6th and I’ma win.”

On the cut he received during the confrontation

“At first I was, like, ‘Man, how bad is this cut?’ but I went back and looked in the bathroom, it’s just a scratch. My glasses poked up against my face so it left a scratch right there, so it was just bleeding from that but it’s not deep, I won’t need stitches or anything like that so I’m not concerned, I’m not worried. He got one on me, I got one on him. So the tie-breaker comes November 6th.”

On Canelo saying he’ll KO him within 8 rounds

“He’s supposed to say that, right?...(My goal is) getting my hand raised and becoming the first undisputed super middleweight. So he’s supposed to say that, that doesn’t rattle me. People been telling me that my whole life...”
