George Kambosos balks at signing off on Oct. 16 fight date change to face Teofimo Lopez

Kambosos is holding firm right now.

It looks like George Kambosos isn’t exactly eager to once again move his proposed fight date for his IBF mandatory title fight against Teofimo Lopez — now being targeted for Oct. 16 by Triller, instead of Oct. 4. And with Kambosos holding firm for now on the Oct. 4 date, Lopez took to social media to suggest Kambosos wants out of the fight.

“Yooo! This hoe George Kambosos don’t want to sign the contract for the new date,” Lopez wrote on Twitter. “All that talk and he don’t want to fight now. Man someone get this boy so I can finish what he thinks he started! OCTOBER 16TH sign the dotted line. Your biggest payday and you chicken out.”

Kambosos would soon after reply in kind, saying he’s ready to rumble with Lopez anytime, anyplace, and anywhere — even if that means meeting up for street fight (just apparently not on Oct. 16, though).

“Delusional weight drained kid” Kambosos replied. “Why wait for Oct. 16, we have a signed date for Oct. 4. Like I told you at the presser, I’ll do it right now. So if you want just meet me outside of MSG. Just me and you and let’s see who’s a real dog. Sorry to break it to you but no one’s scared of you.”

At this point there’s plenty of questions as to whether or not this problematic fight will take place at all, but I suppose it could just be a matter of how much Triller is willing to pay to appease Kambosos for the fight date change, which has already been rumored to have lost big money for the company.
