Former President Donald Trump will do “alternative” commentary on Saturday’s Triller Fight Club pay-per-view, along with son Donald Trump Jr, apparently. The show is set to be headlined in Florida by 58-year-old Evander Holyfield facing 44-year-old MMA legend Vitor Belfort.
Originally, Saturday’s card was meant to take place at Staples Center in Los Angeles with 48-year-old Oscar De La Hoya returning to face Belfort in the main event, but De La Hoya came down with COVID, and the entire card had to move across country because Florida is way more into not pretending they care about this stuff than California is.
This latest move seems a pretty clear desperation heave by Triller to get any sort of buzz behind the event. If TikTok kids aren’t going to watch grandpas fight for $50 — and they’re not — then maybe a base that doesn’t even care about what’s happening other than listening to Trump talk about anything for a bit will.
To be extra clear, if you order this show, you will not have Donald Trump commentary brought to you by force or whatever. The PPV, which you can order at FITE TV, will have separate feeds, and the normal telecast will be called by Jim Lampley — who is really picking one hell of an event to come out of the woods for — and Shawn Porter.
