Ahead of this weekend’s Showtime PPV headlined by David Benavidez vs Demetrius Andrade, all the fighters were on hand for the final press conference. Benavidez promised this card will give fans the action they desire.

“This is a great way to close out the year,” David Benavidez said. “I feel like this is going to the best card ‘cause everyone has so much to prove on this card. You got my brother, you got Charlo, you got Demetrius, you got the guys in the beginning. This is going to be an amazing card and we’re not going to disappoint the fans.

“In my opinion, these two fights right here, the co-main event and the main event can be the fights of the year so we’re just looking forward to giving the fans what they want to see.”

Andrade on finally getting the big fight he’s always wanted and readily accepting the opportunity to fight Benavidez

“I’m on my Charlo shit right now. I’m about to fuck shit up over there,” Andrade joked. “The whole Benavidez family going to be getting hurt. We’re gonna beat up Lord Farquaad over’s going to be a great night.”

Benavidez on why Andrade is the right opponent to face

“Because he’s atop of the division. He showed the world he’s a really good fighter, he was an Olympian, two-time world champion; this is the only direction that I thought I could go to prove myself, that I am the best. He’s not an easy opponent, he’s very technical, he has very good defense, but I always find a way to win and come Saturday it’s not going to be no different. I’m going to find a way to beat his ass.”

Benavidez on if he believes he’ll stop Andrade

“I’m going to try to strike as soon as I have an opportunity to strike. I’m going to try to end it as early as I can because I want to show the people that I am the best fighter...the fans want to see knockouts and they want to see people go to war. We can go heart-for-heart but I’m going to end up victorious on Saturday.”

Andrade on Benavidez predicting a stoppage when he’s an unbeaten champion

“I mean, yeah, there’s definitely opportunity, I can have David Benavidez walk into a lot of things to end the fight early.”
