‘Ryan, I hope you’re OK’: Oscar De La Hoya concerned about Ryan Garcia’s state of mind heading into Oscar Duarte fight

After Ryan Garcia lashed out at his promoters publicly, Oscar De La Hoya continued the spectacle by responding on social media.

After Ryan Garcia spent a chunk of yesterday’s final press conference taking aim at his Golden Boy promoters Oscar De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins, De La Hoya took to social media to express concern for his fighter in a since deleted post.

“I have to say that I’m really concerned about Ryan Garcia’s state of mind,” De La Hoya wrote on X. “Considering his history of mental instability (which he’s documented himself) his current erratic behavior shows he’s clearly not focused on Saturdays fight. You won’t take my calls, Ryan I hope you’re OK.”

The fact that De La Hoya thought it to be a good idea to publicly respond in such a way highlights the ongoing disconnect between the pair, but the fact he later deleted the post suggests he at least has some semblance of better judgement, or perhaps some keen advice.

Garcia is currently set to take on Oscar Duarte this weekend in Houston as he attempts to rebound from his stoppage loss to Gervonta Davis back in April, but the ongoing drama between Garcia and his promoters has probably been the much bigger story.
