Ryan Garcia has been making headlines lately, but most of that was due to the amount of quality time he’s been spending with Floyd Mayweather, whom Garcia says is mentoring him.
But now Garcia publicly shares information about changes he’s going through in his personal life, saying he and his wife are planning to divorce. Garcia mentioned that tidbit in a recent Instagram post that came immediately after he announced the birth of his son, which read in part:
“As I step into a new chapter in my life, it’s with a heavy heart to share that Drea and I have decided to divorce. While this decision marks the end of our marriage, it’s important ot emphasize that our relationship as co-parents remains our top priority.
“Throughout our years together, Drea has been an incredible partner and an even more extraordinary mother to our two children. I’m deeply grateful for the years we shared and for her unwavering commitment to our family.”
Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) remains one of the bigger names in the sport of boxing even if his in-ring accomplishments don’t quite match. In his biggest fight to date he was stopped by Gervonta Davis, but has since bounced back with a stoppage win over Oscar Duarte in a move up in weight class.
